Still on the Semakau thread, this is my favourite picture taken on this nature ramble. It's amazing (or rather, appalling) how close Pulau Bukom's oil refineries are to Semakau's inter-tidal zones. Imagine - an industrial spillage can easily wipe out our precious and humble patch of biodiversity!
So grab your friends, relatives, grandparents and little pets to visit Semakau and various other nature spots in Singapore before URA decides to encroach on NEA and NParks' turf. Literally.

Since it was my first trip to the Southern Islands of Singapore, I was quite surprised to see that a place with a fragile ecosystem would be found so near to the refineries. o_O
